About

Did you miss your Unit campout and want to take your own Scouts camping? Do you love camping so much that you are just looking for that next opportunity to get into the woods?

We are offering two Family Camping EXPO weekends this fall that can take care of any of those needs! Our Fall EXPO events are now open to all ages to make sure ALL of our Scouts can get out into the woods and camp with their families.

Join us for BB’s and Archery. Come climb the Scouterhorn. Try a STEM activity or three!. Want crafts or leatherwork? We have them. Have you visited our Woodshop? this is the perfect time. Cap off your night with your own campfire, and maybe smores in your campsite as you enjoy the fabulous fall weather.

The EXPOs will be limited to 150 individuals per weekend to avoid overcrowding. Program activities will be scheduled to limit the number of participants in each activity area. Limited walk ins will be allowed with staff approval. This will allow for each family to plan their day as best fits their needs.

Family groups are responsible for bringing their own camping gear and meals to include food storage and preparation items.

COVID-19 – Due to the increase in the number of COVID-19 virus infections, particularly among children of Scouting age, we ask that every participant over 5 years old to wear a mask when close to people outside of their family group (less than 6 feet).  This precaution will be particularly important during program activities, when volunteers and participants are in close contact.  We ask that you take this precaution even if your family group is vaccinated, since not everyone participating in Family Camping will be or can be vaccinated.

When checking in, we will use the BSA Risk Management Checklist to screen everyone, in each family party, for virus symptoms and will take everyone’s temperature.  Please using the checklist for each member in your camping party before you leave home. You can then use the form Camp Snyder COVID Certification 2021 to list each person’s name and sign for them.

It is our goal to complete another virus-free Family Camping season using these proven virus precautions and with your cooperation, we are sure to be successful!
